Khublai Khans Glasgow Mongolian Feast

Khublai Khan's Glasgow

Hi Scott,

My favourite restaurant in Glasgow is Khublai Khan's in the Merchant City Candleriggs.

I try to go there as much as possible as its so different from everywhere else in Glasgow. Basically you can go up to the BBQ for the Mongolian Feast, where you watch the chefs cook the food right in front of you, and you fill up your own bowl with things like kangaroo, ostrich and even shark! Then you can can dust it off with herbs and spices, eat it all up and go back up for more.

If you don't know anything about Mongolian food, there are recipes to help you out, and you just follow them, but to be fair all I do is lump it all on my bowl and it usually works out nice and tasty!

The whole concept of the restaurant is fabulous, but I'd recommend it more for groups as it lends itself to great discussion about what's going on around you, and it gets pretty atmospheric when it's busy (which it always seems to be when I'm there).

And if it's your birthday, booking Khublai Khan's is a great idea. You can book in advance and they'll dress you up as a Mongolian Warrior, and you get your own big throne to sit on for dinner, be serenaded by some crazy musicians and you even get your own camera to take away with you.

Finally, order the Yum Tum for dessert - Mars Bar Cheesecake - need I say more?!
