Please note that as of 25th June 2015 this site is no longer being updated, as I'm taking a wee break from it for a while to focus on other projects. Thanks for your interest and I'll post up as & when it's all back up and running.

You'll never forget the
10 most sumptuous
Glasgow Restaurants

The only Glasgow restaurants guide online
that lists only the best & never the rest

Glasgow restaurants eh? Like me, I'm sure you've been there before. In addition to looking for great hotels, you're also looking online for decent restaurants in when you visit Glasgow.  You find site after site with the same information. They just list every single one of them, and you've grown a beard by the time you find what you're looking for (even if you're female!).

Whilst Glasgow has pure hunners of absolute quality places to grab a bite, my guide on the best restaurants here gives you only 10 of them.

Find the best hotels in Glasgow near these restaurants

As my site grows, I might expand it with the top ten Italian & Indian restaurants and so on, but hey, I'd be here forever, so for now I'll be sticking to only my definite favourite places to go when eating out in Glasgow.

Best Glasgow Restaurants

Bear in mind though, that these are just personal guides based on my own taste & that of Tracey's. And as my tastes change a bit like the weather here, you might find that my Top Ten becomes a bit shape-shifty as time goes on! If you have something more specific in mind for when you're dining in Glasgow and don't like what you see here, please just contact me and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction. And if you'd like to take my updated list with you when you visit Glasgow, feel free to download my Wee Glesca pocket guide to the city.

One other point before you dive in - for whatever reason, restaurants in Glasgow come in and out of business on a fairly (or maybe an unfairly) regular basis, so if any of the ones you see below have now closed or if you've seen a new one you think I should consider for the Top 10, just let me know.

My Top Ten Restaurants in Glasgow

In no particular order...

1. Grill on the Corner - Best Steakhouse in the City
2. Red Onion - Modern Scottish & Eclectic
3. Two Fat Ladies or Gamba - (Coin Flip!) Best Seafood Restaurants
4. Ristorante La Fiorentina - Traditional Italian
5. The Dhabba - Authentic Indian Excellence
6. Khublai Khan - Mongolian Barbeque
7. Tony Roma's at Xscape - Most Delicious Ribs
8. Panda Chinese Cuisine - Chinese Buffet (don't knock it!)
9. The Sisters Kelvingrove - The finest Scottish Restaurant
10. Malaga Tapas - Most authentic Spanish Restaurant

One honourable mention however, goes to Ristorante Caprese, which until it finally closed its doors in 2011 was for me the top restaurant in Glasgow, but its owner Costanzo opened a new place in the City (Don Costanzo) and I'll be featuring it here soon so check back for more info. And a wee menchie also for a really inspirational deli in the east end, Contento Deli Glasgow.

The list above is my ten best, but I'll be adding links soon to the newer hidden gem eateries that have been making tidal waves on the restaurant scene in Glasgow more recently. My top ten of these new places at the moment is:

1. The Hanoi Bike Shop
2. The Gannet
3. Ox & Finch
4. Crabshakk
5. Buddy's, Bread Meats Bread & Ketchup
6. Cail Bruich
7. Butchershop Bar & Grill
8. Sapporo Teppanyaki
9. Street Food Eateries
10. Social Bite

And again I'll be adding links or creating a new page for these once I pull the finger out! Also, in case you're wondering what's happened to them, these old favourite Glasgow restaurants have had to close - Cathay Cuisine & The Imperial Rooms at Stavka Glasgow - but as always here, whenever somewhere great closes, another will replace it, and I guess it's my job to keep sampling the best just for you!

Scottish Chef at Work

I will be expanding this page soon and will be providing links to each of these outstanding top ten restaurants in Glasgow. Each will have photos of us stuffing our faces in glee, a sample menu, a full & honest review of the food, drink and atmosphere, and much, much more. Speaking for myself, I'm practically drooling at the thought!

You might also want to have a look at Groupon which provides bang up to date discounts and deals of the day at some of the best Glasgow restaurants, and if you visit their site you'll also get access to more superb discounts available for Glasgow hotels and shopping as well. I mean, you'll be in Scotland - so why not perpetuate a stereotype and refuse to pay full price for anything!
