Holiday Inn Express Glasgow

Holiday Inn Express Glasgow availability

Strictly speaking I think its proper title is the Express by Holiday Inn Glasgow City Centre Theatreland, but I'm sure you'd like to finish reading the review before you actually get here, so for now I'll just call it the Holiday Inn Express Glasgow.

To be honest, I didn't even know Glasgow had a Theatreland District until I started researching these hotels - I love it when stuff like this is just made up to make it sound cool to visitors to the City! Whatever the area's called though, the Holiday Inn Express Glasgow is right at the heart of it. It's just round the corner from the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the Glasgow Pavillion, the Theatre Royal, the RSAMD and a few of the smaller venues, so it really is an ideal place to stay if you'll be getting some proper cultcha during your time in Glasgow.

It's also within walking distance of Cineworld (Europe's tallest cinema), the shopping at Sauchiehall Street & Buchanan Street, plenty of public transport links and a whole plethora of the best restaurants in the City, including the delightful La Bonne Auberge just next to the hotel's front door.

As for the Holiday Inn Express Glasgow itself, it's already got a reputation for being one of the most booked budget hotels in the City, yet another example of a great place to stay for visitors who don't have to pay over the odds just to boast about it when there ain't much difference in quality. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm touring around a City I spend next to no time in the hotel. It's just a place to rest my head, so why spend most of my spending money on it when I can find a clean & comfortable budget hotel that gives me what I need?!!

Yeah I know, stop being a cheapskate Docherty!

Hotel Reviews

Here's a sample of the many reviews for the Holiday Inn Express Glasgow Hotel pulled from the Laterooms site:

A. V. Very helpful staff, excellent security features (need the door card to operate the lift), no-fuss, no unnecessary extras. Great location. Can have hotel validate parking ticket, so parking in Buchanan Galleries car park round the corner £10 for 24 hours. Very happy with whole experience.

J McArthur Stayed here for one night only booked a show at the Pavilion so brilliant 5 mins walk away and 7 mins from the train station. Staff lovely and very helpful breakfast good toast coffee cereal juice etc nice but prefer cooked breckie. All in enjoyable stay and would definitely stay there again as it is so close to all the shops cinemas restaurants etc. Excellent.

Gillian D This is an excellent hotel in the centre of glasgow. it was very clean and quiet (it was mid week so could be different at weekends) . They were very careful about safety and you needed to use your room key to operate the lift, a good point if travelling alone i feel. breakfast was fine, considering it was in with the price (and a free paper!). A choice of cereal, some fresh fruit, toast, yoghurt, drinks and muffins and croissants! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who asked me! All the staf were friendly too and I am sure they would sort out any problems immediatley.

Anonymous We were extremely pleased by all aspects of our stay here and wish to compliment all members of staff on their friendly helpfulness. There was always a smile on every face regardless of how busy each was. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is well situated in a central location and is within a very short walking distance of Queen Street rail and Buchanan Street bus stations. Central Station isn't too far away - easily walkable for the fit and healthy - but plenty taxis avai;able at very low costs. Would unreservedly recommend this hotel - we'll stay here on our next trip to Glasgow.
