The Lowdown

When you go travelling, visit a City, do you ever feel as though you're in another dimension?

Know what I mean? As if you're stoating about looking in from the outside, watching the locals carry out their lives while you float around in a disembodied holiday mode, wondering how to capture the best of where you are, how to make your visit feel like an adventure?

Well I have to admit - I've been there. I've sat freezing on that dated tour bus, eyes glazed over in sheer boredom. I've left cities with photographs of buildings I can't remember, and of confusing days that merge into one in my head.

When I visit somewhere, I'd like to know how to fit in, learn why the locals choose to spend their lives there, feel like one of them, so that I can go back and remember what separated that place from any other I'd been to.

So how can you capture that feeling about Glasgow?

Other than spending some time on this site (boy is my ego busting at the seams?!!), just pop in your details in the box above and be prepared to learn how to experience the real Glasgow, whether you're coming here to visit or to live, or even if you're an ex-pat wondering what your Dear Green Place is like these days.

My wee zarraFAC ezine will jump into your Inbox as regularly as I can pull my finger out my proverbial, and will give you...

  • Memories of tenement life in the City, and reflections on how Glasgow used to be & how she's changed over the years
  • The inside scoop on where to find the most recent restaurant and hotel deals in Glasgow
  • Firecracker insights on upcoming Glasgow events, concerts and gigs and how to get tickets
  • All the news on the site and what to expect in the next episodes of our For the Love of G...lasgow comedy podcast
  • and much, much more...
Why's it called zarraFAC? Well I'm glad you asked that (ahem...). If you've read my page on Glasgow Patter, you'll know that Glaswegians sometimes tend to slur their words a bit and attach their words together to form one-word sentences. zarraFAC actually means is that a fact?. Don't worry if you still don't get it though - all will become clear if you subscribe to my wee Glasgow guide ezine!

So jump back up to the box at the top of the page, fill out your details and don't, just please don't miss out, because I can't be held responsible for how your life might turn out if you don't have your fix of zarraFAC!
