Welcome to the Glasgow Airport Travel Inn

Take a leisurely walk to the Airport
from the Glasgow Airport Travel Inn!

Glasgow Airport Travel Inn EntranceNestling just 800 metres away from the Terminal Building at Glasgow Airport (that's just a few laps around the track for those crazy athletes out there!), is the Glasgow Airport Travel Inn.

If you were to drive past it (in fact, almost over it) on the M8 Motorway you'd likely miss it, but once you turn the corner into the Airport grounds you'll find fairly quickly this predictably decent hotel from the Premier Travel Inn company.

This is just another example of popular City hotels that are pretty much the same quality the world over - the guys & gals at Premier worked out some time ago the formula for comfortable hotels at an affordable price, and continue to apply it in every one of their Inns. So the fact that the Glasgow Airport Travel Inn is up to the usual good standard is no surprise.

10 BASIC FACTS

1. Hotel Details - Glasgow Airport Travel Inn, Whitecart Road, Glasgow, UK, PA3 2TH; Tel: +44 (0)870 238 3321; Fax: +44 (0)141 842 1570; Web: www.premiertravelinn.com

2. Directions - From Glasgow take the M8 and follow signs for Glasgow Airport (Junction 28), then follow the easy hotel signs. From the other way take Junction 29 & again just follow the signs.

Glasgow Airport Travel Inn Bedroom3. Rooms - 101 of them, all en-suite as far as I know. There are disabled access rooms available upon prior request, as well as bedrooms adapted for those with disabilities. No Smoking rooms available as well. The room amenities include alarm clock, bathtub, bedding quilt, coat hangers, colour television, coffee table, coffee & tea making facilities, computer hookup, dressing table, hairdrier, iron & ironing table on request, sound proofing, electronic key card, full length mirror, shaving mirror, standard mirror, modem, pillows non allergic, radio, spy hole in door, shaver point, shower, writting desk, direct dial phone, toilet & w.c., toiletries, voice mail messaging, smoke detectors, windows that open. Yeah, not that I inventoried everything when I was there of course, cause that'd just be tragic!...

4. Parking - free again on request. A real time & cash saver!

Glasgow Airport Travel Inn Restaurant5. Food - There's a great little restaurant in the Glasgow Airport Travel Inn. It's called SLICE, and serves a decent array of grub at an affordable price throughout the day. Breakfasts come in at about £6.95, or for the lighter continental buffet, only £5.25.

6. Amenities - 220 AC; Coffee Shop; No smoking facilities; Multilingual; TV; Porters; Lounge; Elevators; Meeting / Banquet facilities.

7. Recreation - hotel residents have complementary access to the David Lloyd leisure and fitness club 4km from the hotel. The centre includes cardiovascular equipment, jacuzzi, sauna, squash, swimming pool outdoor (cold or indoor heated), tennis and whirlpool.

THE REAL LOWDOWN

As I mentioned before, when it comes to a comfortable night's rest in a clean & quiet hotel, Premier really have hit the nail on the head with their places.

The Glasgow Airport Travel Inn is up to the same standard you'd expect from them. Whilst it's accepted that you'd never book a two-week resort holiday there, that's not what this hotel is about. It's just a great, affordable place (particularly for those with families) to wind down before or after your flight.

Premier Travel Inns don't normally have restaurants attached to them. Usually you have to pick yourself off your lazy behind and cross the street to the Beefeaters. So with SLICE in the hotel itself serving ample portions of tasty nosh throughout the day, this really is a bonus you'd not expect for the cash you've spent.

So my real lowdown is that you can't go far wrong with the Glasgow Airport Travel Inn. Just like the Travelodge you know what you're getting and you know that it's value for the relatively small amount of money you're paying.

Enjoy your stay!
