Pollok Country Park - Voted Best in Europe

Well done Pollok Country Park.

It's just beaten off stiff competition from Poland, France, Sweden and Germany to pick up the coveted award of the best park in Europe, having already won the title for being the UK's best park.

In the park you'll experience plenty of open space for a walk in the woods, a mountain bike trail, the countryside rangers' centre, the world famous Burrell Collection and of course, the much loved Pollok House.

Pollok Park has been in the news recently because of the controversial plans to build a Go Ape centre like the one in Aberfoyle, but regardless of whether or not it gets the go ahead, I'd certainly suggest that if you've some time to spare on your next trip to Glasgow, you should try to find a space for this outstanding attraction.

In my mind it's one of the top ten Glasgow attractions, and once I've a few minutes to spare myself, I'll be completing a wee guide about it. If anyone has any photos of the park they'd like to share in the meantime, feel free to submit them in my little Photo Box.

Explore the best Charles Rennie Mackintosh buildings

Glasgow School of ArtIt's taken all the wind out my sails, but I've finally conquered my introductory guide to the best Glasgow Charles Rennie Mackintosh buildings.

Learn here why the inspirationally genius work of Mackintosh continues to shape and electrify Glasgow even today, and find out a little about the buildings themselves & why if you're planning a trip here you'd be fairly unlucky should they not feature on your itinerary.

Who knows, it may even inspire you to design something of your own!...

Sparkling new guide to cycling Glasgow

Quiet Riot GlasgowWell I'm completely out of puff now.

Just polished off a wee guide to cycling Glasgow, and if you take a look you'll learn why Glasgow and the haunting terrain of Scotland beyond has a reputation for cycling, and in particular mountain biking, which stands above that of every other country on the planet.

Not bad for a City and Country with a tiresome rep for being fat and deeply in love with all things deep-fried...
