The Express Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport is only a 2 minute walk to the main Terminal Building, and has covered walkway access (which kinda makes you feel a little famous, like you're avoiding the press or something!) with airport trolleys at the front door to make an early start or a late return hassle-free for you.

The Express Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport, or more accurately, the Express by Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport, is definitely worth checking out if you're considering staying near the Terminal.

2. Directions - M8 Motorway via Junction 28 gives easy access to & from the airport. Ride time about 20 mins drive from Glasgow City Centre & about 2 mins from Paisley, nearest town. Can't miss it really, you'll see its cool design from the Motorway!

6. Rooms - All room rates normally include a large continental buffet breakfast (yummy!) served from 4am to 10.30am. 141 rooms (non smoking rooms, family rooms & interconnecting rooms available). All rooms have Sky TV and in room movies, computer point, direct dial telephone and desks, power shower & hairdryer. There are also rooms designed for wheelchair access. En-suite bathrooms. tea and coffee making. Double Glazed Windows (keeping all those nasty Motorway & plane noises out!).

7. Flites Restaurant - Sample Menu - Starter, Soup of the Day, Fresh Fruit Platter, Pate & Oatcakes. Main Course - 8oz Sirloin Steak with all the trimmings, Chicken Breast with a sauce of your choice, Home-Made Steak & Ale Pie. Dessert - selection of ice cream, Apple Pie and Fresh Cream. Breakfast available from 4:00 to 10:30, Dinner from 17:00 to 22:00.

8. Parking - On site parking available for 95 cars while you're staying at the hotel. Also, the Express Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport is the only hotel at the airport to offer a collect & return service for secured parking. It can be arranged at discounted rates with your car collected & returned to the hotel.

To be honest, the Express Inn Glasgow Airport has to be my favourite of the 5 airport hotels.

You'll find that the rooms are pretty small but amazingly functional. The staff are extremely nice & happy to help. I've heard that they let one group store their excess luggage for 6 nights while galavanting down to London & Dublin. The group would've had to pay to leave their luggage at the airport or pay charges to their airlines if it was overweight, so that was fairly cool.

Also, it's a real calming thing to have your car sitting there when you return from your holiday, knowing that it's been totally secure all the while.

The main point for me though? - The continental breakfast & newspapers just hit the spot in the morning. As ever, my stomach - the great judge of quality!
