To commemorate the one hundred years which have elapsed since the outbreak of The First World War, Rutherglen Town Hall is proud to host an entirely new production of Joan Littlewood's Musical Entertainment, Oh What a Lovely War, presented by Walter Paul Productions.

With humour, song, dance, and grit, this unique and inspiring show tells the story of those four horrendous years between 1914 and 1918, when Great Britain fought on the battlefields of France and beyond. Unbelievable facts and figures are continously fed to audiences as this war to end all wars is re-enacted, in the round, by a company of performers especially recruited for this production.

The six performances will be made even more special, as the production is being mounted in aid of Erskine House.

I'll try and make it along to this, as I've always been interested in learning more about what really went on during WWI.
